Thanksgiving Point field trip

I love going to Thanksgiving Point. Bronwyn's class took a field trip there today, and although the Tulip Festival is officially over and many tulips are on their way out, there were still thousands of beautiful flowers to see. The only downside to the trip was today is the coldest day of last week and this one -- windy, occasional snowflakes, and partly sunny. Some of the girls were huddling in the bathroom, rubbing their hands or holding their shirt necklines open under the warm hand dryers. When the sun was out it was pleasant, but as soon as the clouds passed over it was CHILLY...for May.

Bronwyn had a wonderful time with her camera and her three friends, whom she kept posing this way and that everywhere we wandered.

It smelled so good there too, with the rain-soaked soil under the trees and flowers everywhere. Although the air had a definite bite to it, we loved being outside for the morning. My yard could look just like this place ... if I had the army of gardeners and $$ to make it happen!
