Girl Cheese Sandwiches

Tonight I made grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner instead of the dinner I had planned. Everyone in my family was coming home at different times and I didn't want to put a lot of effort into a meal that we wouldn't be able to enjoy together. As I was slicing the cheese my six-year-old son announced that he liked grilled cheese sandwiches now. When I asked him about before now, he said he used to think they were "girl cheese" sandwiches. He had always liked the cheese part, he said, but the "girl" part didn't sound very good to him. My daughter who was sitting nearby thought he was trying to be mean about not liking girls and started into a huff, but my son and I both reassured her it was nothing personal.
