Child - Parent parallels are sometimes pretty cool. My first youth conference when I was fourteen was going on a pioneer trek with the youth in my stake combined with the youth in at least one other stake. We were gone for at least four days that my brain can honestly account for, but I think it might have even been five. Owen's first youth conference, at age fourteen, was a pioneer trek also. His was just within the ward with the youth leaders and youth being divided into families and their trek lasted two and a half days. Both of us had plenty of adventure and a great experience. I managed to sneak some before and after pictures ... here's BEFORE:

Here's AFTER:

Owen did insist that he had an incredible time and he was sorry that it was over (although not quite so sorry once he got inside our air conditioned van and got to have a longgggggg shower at home!).
With the end of summer comes the start of school. I caught Evan, Bronwyn, and Liam on their first day. Yeah, Evan needs a haircut. He's getting one tomorrow.

Liam had to get different glasses during the summer since the cute wire ones he started with in the spring kept popping the lenses out. You'd think that frame makers would keep their market in mind and make the frames anti-popping-out somehow. Whatever. Liam likes this pair just as well. And he does an amazing job of taking care of them.

ooo what handsome/beautiful kiddos! liam is very handsome in his glasses. i would've never guessed he was so responsible with them... i think i remember several conversations of "Liam, where are your glasses?" and then after a long search finding them in the barn, or the bathroom or somewhere random while he was here. he cracks me up!
