Shakespeare Festival Pics
Had to capture a bit of the Shakespeare Festival on ... well, it's not really film any more, is it. Okay, in those 0's and 1's that is the basis of all computer language.
We were seated in the Lords Gallery, which is the last row of the top balcony on these very narrow benches. No, there isn't anything to prevent you from tipping out over the back of the bench if you're determined or a goofing-around nine-year-old. Not that she took a spill or anything, but I had to tell Bronwyn a couple of times that she could NOT stand on her bench seat to get a better look at the stage. It was Liam's first Shakespeare play.
And the name of the play? Just check it out!
In the lobby of the Randall Jones Theater is a bench with Shakespeare relaxing on it. Bronwyn got to sit on the Bard's lap. Evan is sitting on his bronze quill. Not very comfortable!
This fountain has been in front of the auditorium building for as long as I've been coming to the Festival (which is about forever). My sisters and I had fun playing in this fountain. And here are my kids enjoying the same pleasures. Liam has been given the lecture about proper picture taking now. Sigh. Why do kids think it's always funny to pull weird faces for the camera? And how many times has my pained voice groaned loudly about having to take a picture over because someone thought they should be "cute?"
Love how the water sheet distorts Owen's image a bit. He's standing behind the waterfall.
This is what boys think of as fun. This is what Mom thinks of when she has had enough of Boys Fun.
We stopped at the Parowan Gap on our way out of town. It was the first time the younger three kids had ever seen petroglyphs. Evan found a lizard on a rock and named it Willy the Janitor. Couldn't tell you the inspiration for the name, but it stuck.
